There will always be people out there that will put your dreams down. They will tell you that you are not going to make it. They will make you fell as though you are not good enough, but at the same time they are other people who believe that you can make it. Whatever the case is what is important is to believe in yourself and work hard towards your dream. The path to success is not easy. Instead of letting the negative people put you down, work hard and prove them wrong. That is the best way to get back at them. As one of my favorite talk show host Steve Harvey said the road to success is always under construction. Success is a work in progress. You are always going to work to be better. What you need to put in mind is that you are working to be better than the person you were yesterday. Remember your competition is not against anyone else, but yourself. Don’t let people put you down, instead work harder and prove them wrong!
Learning
What is learning? Is it to start school when you turn three, and then go all the way till senior high. After senior high your then expected to go to College/University . Once you are done with this you would think you are done with learning, but no, I mean you can go and get a job with your Bachelors degree, but that is not the end of learning. You can continue and go to graduate school and get your Masters. Even after that if you wish to proceed you can. You just make sure you are going after what you love and that all the years spent gaining knowledge is worth all the sleepless nights and stress you go through. Learning is endless. Although the levels of degree has an end, learning has no end.
Beauty comes in all size and colors
I remember one of my most frequent argument with my older sister was on who was lighter. We both use to say ourselves. My two younger sisters always say that my older sister had lighter skin color. Others say either me or her. To be honest during those time I wanted to be lighter, as time went by and as I got older I started to realize lighter doesn’t necessarily mean prettier. Your skin color and your height are features you can’t change. Rather than wasting your time on trying to change it , it is better to embrace and appreciate it.
First day of summer class
Summer of 2017 I decided to take a summer course (statistic) in Toronto, Canada at Seneca College. I started class later than everyone. This means that I missed the first class. The reason that I missed class on may 15 was due to an ear surgery. Today in an hour and a half I will be going to class for the first time. The statics class is every Monday from 7pm-10pm. I know that’s late, but since it is summer it doesn’t get dark till later. I am hoping the class goes well and that I will be able catch up on the lecture and assignments that I have missed.
Talk Show
People’s interests are different. Some enjoy watching shows rather than movies, others enjoy talks shows. I am part of those people who love talk shows. My favorite talk show hosts are Ellen DeGeneres and Steve Harvey. They are both funny and have very interesting topics as well as guests. To one day be able to go to their show is a dream come true.
Eden
I met Eden about 10 years ago. We both were new students at British International School (BIS), In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It took a while before we became friends. I knew a girl who came from my old school (Rediate) so we were spending time with each other at the beginning before we made other friends. When me and Rediate were clicking with the other students, Eden was quite and was on her own. One day during PE time we saw Eden seating on her own. We decide to approach and talk to her, ever since then we three were friends. Although it seemed that Eden and Rediate were closer we three were still good friends. All three of us learned a year in BIS and we decided to go out from that school. My parents decided that I attend School of tomorrow (SOT). Without telling each other Eden and I both ended up at SOT. At SOT our friendship grew. I only attended SOT for one semester, never the less our friendship did not die there it went on till this day. Eden is truly an incredible friend. She and I have been through a lot. She has truly shown me that to be a sister one doesn’t certainly have to be related by blood.
Generation change
I am about to be 23 in less than a month. My birthday is on June 21. In the olden days around this age, my mother was married and had my older sister, on top of that she was also working. Now the generation has changed. My older sister is 25 with no kids, but she is a doctor. I also have no kids, but I am currently working towards my bachelor degree. We can also take my mom’s younger sister as an example she is 28 years old and is also not married and is focusing on her career. All this can lead to the assumption that most people nowadays put their career before starting a family.
mother
My mother is very amazing, But I think that is what everyone says about their mother. In fact it is wrong to assume that is what everyone thinks about their mother. The relationship that we all have with our mothers is different, we might have a smooth relationship or a rough one and we might have a close relationship or far one. Whatever the case is we can’t break the bond that we have with our mothers. As long as our mothers are alive, they will always be our mother whether we like it or not. I consider my mother as one of my best friend. When it comes to our best friends, we tell them almost ever thing. I tell my mother more stuff then I tell my actual best friends. Having a conversation with my mom is very different from having a conversation with a friend. I believe that my mother’s advise comes from the love and care that she has for me. Listening to her advise helps me choose the right path. All in all my mother is very amazing,
Introverts
It is amazing how people are different. Some are introvert and others are extrovert. Me being an introvert I can relate to those kind of people. Introverts are quite and like having their own time. Introverts hang out with small group of people and enjoy interacting more with people on a personal level. Although introverts find it hard to socialize and make friends, when they do they value and appreciate each step of the way.
Prayer
People face problems. Some have it hard and others not so much. I know there are people out there who pray in their time of need which is wrong. Prayer should be part of your daily routine. There is always something that you can thank God for, no matter how your day turned out. I believe that there is good in every situation you just have to believe it so you can be able to see it.
